What we collect

  • Account info — name, email, password (stored as a salted hash), and any profile details you choose to add (city, shoe size, favorite brands, Instagram).
  • Activity — votes, quiz runs, giveaway entries, submissions, offers, and recorded sales.
  • Seller details — if you become a verified seller, your phone number and street mailing address. These are private: admin-only, never shown on the site.
  • Payment info — when you buy quiz credit packs, the payment is processed by Stripe; we receive a confirmation and never see your full card number.
  • Shipping info — if you win a giveaway, the mailing address we need to send the prize.
  • Sign-in via Google/Facebook (when enabled) — your name, email, and avatar from that provider. We never see those passwords.

What we use it for

  • Running the platform: battles, rankings, the quiz, giveaways, the market.
  • Transactional email: password resets, artist approvals, offer and sale notifications.
  • If you opt in: news and promo email about drops and battles.
  • Contacting giveaway winners (a legal requirement of running them).

What we don't do

  • We don't sell your personal information.
  • We don't share it with advertisers.
  • We share data only with the services that run the site — hosting (Railway), email delivery (Resend for outbound mail, ImprovMX for forwarding), payment processing (Stripe), and analytics (Google Analytics) — and when the law requires it.

Children under 13

The Heat Chart is intended for people 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have, we delete it. If you believe a child under 13 has given us information, email hello@theheatchart.comand we'll remove it.

How long we keep it

Account and activity data is kept while your account is open and deleted on request (see below). Anonymous traffic records are deleted after 180 days. Records we're legally required to keep (e.g. giveaway winner records) are held only as long as the law requires.

Public by design

Artist pages, collector closets, battle votes counts, leaderboard names, and recorded sale prices are public — that's the product. Your email is never shown publicly. A buyer's email entered by a seller is used only to route the claim and notify that buyer.

Your choices

  • Edit or remove profile details anytime from your profile.
  • Marketing email is opt-in and every send has an unsubscribe.
  • Delete your account yourself, anytime: your profile page has a “Delete account” control that permanently removes your personal information and disables sign-in. Prefer email? hello@theheatchart.com from your account address works too.

Cookies

We use the cookies needed to keep you signed in, and — when our independent traffic measurement is enabled — Google Analytics measurement cookies. Analytics only: no ad trackers, no advertising cookies, no cross-site ad tracking, ever. The analytics opt-out below switches Google Analytics off too.

Analytics (cookie-free)

We measure traffic ourselves, on our own servers, without cookies. For each pageview we record: the page URL, the referring site (e.g. "facebook"), campaign tags in the link, a device class (mobile/desktop), and an anonymous visitor code. That code is a one-way hash that changes every day, so it can't follow you over time or across sites. Your IP address is used only to compute it and is never stored. Traffic records are deleted after 180 days. We honor your browser's Do Not Track setting, and you can switch analytics off for this browser right here:

Alongside our own counter we may run Google Analytics, so partners can independently verify our traffic. It runs with IP anonymization and no advertising features, and it follows the same rules — Do Not Track or the switch above turns it off completely.

Draft policy pending attorney review. We'll announce material changes on the site.
