The story
The Air Jordan 10 launched in 1994-95 during MJ's first retirement, its outsole famously striped with his career accomplishments. Its 'City Series' spun regional colorways for Chicago, New York, Orlando, Seattle and Sacramento — and the black-and-purple Sacramento pair has never been retroed since 1995.
The December 5 return at $215 is aimed squarely at collectors: the 10 has little mainstream hype, but first-retro-ever energy gives this drop real weight with heads who remember the City Series era. Kings fans get a rare hometown grail, too.
Expect limited-feeling supply relative to the marquee retros; resale should run a modest premium with strong long-term collector value in OG sizes.
The deep cuts
- Sacramento is the only City Series pair with a full black upper — Chicago, New York, Orlando and Seattle were all white-based.
- MJ wore the AJ10 'Chicago' during his March 1995 comeback, including the 55-point 'double nickel' game at MSG on March 28, 1995 — with 45 stitched on the shoe.
- The outsole's stripes list MJ's year-by-year accomplishments from 1985 through 1994.
- Nike itself chronicled the pack in an SNKRS 'Inside the Vault: Jordan 10 x City Series' feature, and 2025 marked the series' 30th anniversary.
