The story
The 'Thunder' Air Jordan 4 — black nubuck with Tour Yellow — debuted in 2006 and returned in 2012 and 2023 as one of the model's signature non-OG colorways. 'Pink Thunder' makes the long-memed fan concept real, swapping yellow for Rust Pink across the midsole, lace wings, and mesh panels, in women's sizing only.
Release calendars have bounced between October 31 and December 19; most recent reporting points to the December date, so treat the day as fluid until Nike confirms. Either way it's the marquee women's-exclusive Jordan of the holiday season.
Women's-exclusive 4s have quietly become strong resale performers, with smaller-size premiums and crossover demand from men sizing down.

- The original 2006 'Thunder' released August 23, 2006 as a Jumpman23.com online exclusive, bundled with a zip-up jacket at a $500 package price.
- It launched under Jordan Brand's experimental LS lifestyle line, paired with its counterpart colorway, the AJ4 'Lightning.'
- The Thunder formula — black nubuck, Tour Yellow pops, white heel Jumpman — has since spawned the Red Thunder, White Thunder and now Pink Thunder.
- The 2023 Thunder retro (DH6927-017) brought the colorway back in full family sizing for the first time.
